KEEP FIGHTING FOR A
BETTER BOGALUSA

MEET TYRIN
At twenty-three, Mayor Tyrin Z. Truong beat a two-term incumbent to become the youngest mayor in Bogalusa's history. He inherited a city with hard problems and a thin budget, and he's spent his term doing the work of putting the magic back in the Magic City street by street, block by block, kid by kid.
Tyrin Truong is a son of Washington Parish. From Bogalusa City Schools Student of the Year, to the highest scores on state tests throughout school, Tyrin has always stood out. He was born and raised here and when he had every reason to build a life somewhere else, he came home instead.
"Nobody handed me a city that was easy to run. My administration inherited deferred maintenance, empty accounts, and problems that had been kicked down the road for twenty years. So we got to work on the boring stuff. The streets, the water, and the lights because that's what actually changes how it feels to live here."
MAYOR TYRIN TRUONG

In four years, Mayor Tyrin Truong has moved Bogalusa forward on the things that actually change a family's day. Homicides fell from nine in 2022 to two in 2025. He put $160,000 in crime cameras on the streets, recruited the largest class of patrolmen in over twenty years, and gave firefighters their first raise in two decades. He brought back the Mayor's Camp after a twenty-year absence, opened the Teen Lounge, and built a Youth Corps that has put more than 150 teenagers to work in their own neighborhoods. He secured over $2 million in grant funding, grew industrial park revenue by more than 155 percent at no cost to residents, and raised the city's state water grade from a C to a B without ever raising water rates. He hired Bogalusa's first properly licensed water and sewer operator in over twenty years. New parks. New business. A city hall that answers to the people who pay for it.
